1) May we please get 720px265 WEB HEVC for movies and series again. We have not been getting any of these of late.
2)latest/new episodes on the latest episodes tab are not showing. Please fix this.

As @cinemoan said: "I'm a moron". I don't know who uploads here. Once I had something rare, told admin I wanted to upload it, and they just said "it doesn't work like that". I still don't know "how".

so when I ask about the Daily Show, am I asking in the right place? Can't get it in my country so is asking here a good idea or not?

@needforsuv I feel like I was going crazy that nobody else mentioned the audio issue. It's been around 2 weeks now I think the 1080p x265 RMTeam audio is messed up. I saw they changed from the usual 2:1 to 5:1 for whatever reason and it messed up the audio quality. The 720p x265 RMTeam audio is fine.

To anyone from the RMTeam staff reading this please take a look at it. The RMTeam 1080p x265 releases are my primary source of media I would hate it if they became unplayable to me.

I'm aware the whole process of encoding and uploading on this site is run by a scripted bot but there has got to be someone human behind the screens somehwere. So, I hope you read this for our sakes.

The last time they took the site down for "maintenance" we ended up with more problems than we started with.

I say they should just leave the site alone, bugs and all, and we should all just enjoy what they can provide.

So, I just checked out one of the newer 1080p x265 rmteam encodes. The audio is fine. The video I downloaded used 2.0 96k 2 ch audio because the source video used those.

If they've set up their encoder properly, and I think they did, the audio is only copied not re-encoded. You wouldn't want upscaled audio. I wouldn't be better than the original 2 CH 96K.

The issue @needforsuv has is the File Information print out is missing a lot of info now.

@Kenny_McCormick The stereo encodes for 1080p movies are OK, but all the 5.1 audio encodes are bad. Too less bandwidth spend for audio.

I just checked for a series I watch, were the latest episode was bad. Approx 1Mbyte/minute for the audio. In the previous good sounding encodes it was ~2.75Mbyte/minute.

2.75:1 is the ratio of audio date to have the same quality for a 5.1 encode compared to stereo.

It looks like the same amount of data is spent for 5.1 audio as for the stereo mix, so no wonder they sound bad.

Yeah, I wasn't able to find one with 5.1 audio to check, so grabbed the first 1080P x265 I did find. It had 2.0 audio which led me to believe they copied the audio rather than re-encoded it.

I grabbed the new SWAT posted later today to check out.
This is what I found out:

Codec : AAC
Bit rate : 127 kb/s
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel layout : C L R Ls Rs LFE
Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz

They do re-encode the audio. Have they always? I don't know.
It's a shame that they do, when just making a copy of the original would be so much easier and the sound would be so much better.

If I had a vote, I'd vote for them NOT trying to fix it. Too many things are now broken since the last "fix". I'm afraid of what will be broken next if they do.

I'm sure they want to keep the file size small. There are always going to be users demanding a "reasonably sized" upload so they don't "waste bandwidth".

Seems you can't please some without upsetting some others.

Yes, they always recoded the audio to aac. Usually stereo at ~128kb/s while films with 5.1 sound where encoded with 384kb/s or sometimes even better.
Since about the last ten days every audio is encoded with ~128kb/s and while it is OK for stereo this is way too less for 5.1 audio.

Something definitely happened within the last couple of weeks.
I've noticed the encode queue no longer connects to the database. Much of the File Information for each new upload is missing or inaccurate and now this issue with the audio. Not good.

the audio encode issue seems to be the inability to read the input codec leading to a default of 128kbps

I assume when the bitrate is lower than 384 (their usual), it gets encoded at that (say 256 or 192), but the default is 128
