Dearest RMTeam... Why oh why are you submitting "Web" versions, namely the AppleTV shows, with arabic subtitles, and a few shows before with Danish. Thought this was an English website offering English language and foreign shows with English subtitles!

The non-English subtitles are because the bots use the first subtitle track in the source. That may not be English. The bots don't check.
I tested this on half a dozen different files, downloading the source and RMZ's re-encode. It's always the first subtitle track in the source file that get's used for the re-encode. For rips from non-English speaking counties, the first subtitle track is often not English.

@capsere, meridian, openingcrew, there is crosstalking going on. Some of you are referring to hard coded subs and some to MUXed subs. The 'correct' re-encodes I've seen for TMitHC are tagged RERIP not PROPER.

Yup, the TMITHC PROPERs with Eng muxed subs were up at S-RLS that same day. AFAIK all good.

Now I see season 3 of The Crown just got PROPERSs, at least from MeGusta and some others.

And so it goes.

Yup.. As you likely know, in South Korea they randomly release party balloons with USB drives full of media into North Korea. That's the "balloonet". And then some poor NK peasant finds one, and not knowing what it is, puts it around his neck for good luck, but then gets arrested and beaten. Then some prison guard gets it, likes what he sees of the west in the videos, so he tries to run across the border to freedom but gets fatally shot by a trigger happy South Korean soldier. Then the drive gets washed into a river and eaten by a fish, which eventfully ends up on your dinner plate.

Those TMitHC PROPERS at scene-rls I was talking about were indeed HC for those japs parts.

Yet IDK what openingcrew was referring to, being HC or muxed.

For my part, I was discussing muxed/soft subs, since @openingcrew specifically mentioned AppleTV+. Incorrect subs in general is a broad issue, as @Raada pointed out.

Another prime example of non-English hardcoded subs is episode 2 of The Mandalorian. Apparently the only source rip available has hardcoded German subs, during the trading scene with the Jawas. This type is what I believe @capsere was discussing.

Based on the complaints I've seen, I believe the German subs in The Mandalorian episode 2 are only present in the 1080p version, my 720p copy had English ones. There may be a proper version out but I dunno.

A USB drive is hardly the worst thing one can find in their food (although now I wonder how many USB sticks can you fit into a single fish stick).
Ever since I saw the movie Waiting... years ago, I started avoiding restaurants, as I can't stop imagining Ryan Reynolds messing with my meal.

My apologies to all. I stuck my nose in without understanding just how CONFUSING the situation really is. A clusterf* if I ever saw one. I could see peeps crosstalking. I knew of 3 non-English encodes ((HC, MUXed ST, and/or audio) of TMinHT, another for The Crown, and another for The Mandalorian. And I was still unaware of the extent of the SOURCES (pun intended) for the confusion that prevails. Much like the dust cloud after a nuclear explosion.

FYI - IMDb has added another number to their title ID numbers for some new release. After the "tt" There was 7 numbers before but now there can be 8, such as:

tt10345008
tt1034500

As such, this can mess up software that depends on fetching data from IMDb.

So devs need to update their software and the rest of us need to wait for the fixes.

Personally, my "customized" media software can no longer fetch IMDb data for some new titles. I'm not a dev, but I'm hoping I can at least find a workaround. Wish me luck.

Furthermore, I think this issue was reported days ago by admin at S-RLS, and it has likely been an issue here with missing posters and such, but IDK.. Could be more than just that.

If you know contrary or more, please share.
