There's https://www.rottentomatoes.com/ I find a little better, but as always, your mileage may vary. (E.g. I liked Bugonia (87%) much more than One Battle after Another (94%).

Nowadays, when in doubt about whether smth could be interesting, I look at some of the external Critic reviews on imdb. They're less praising or ranting than the users' comments and after some time you learn whose reviews to look for. And it's much more informative concerning context info as well as different perspectives towards the same movie - but in contrast to most users' – often including actual arguments.

I've also gotten tired of all the crap on IMDB. It really went downhill after Amazon bought it.
For ratings and reviews, I go to Rotten Tomatoes, as @Cinque_Persson suggested, or Metacritic (https://www.metacritic.com/).
For cast, episodes, etc, I go to The Movie DB (https://www.tmdb.org/ or https://www.themoviedb.org/). It's run by community/fans/volunteers, like IMDB was way back in the day.
The only other site I know of is TVMaze, for show info (https://www.tvmaze.com/).

I had a wreck last year. I am now just getting back to downloading and making a DVD. I need some help. I don't remember how to do it. It's that high? For quite a while it was only 100 MB.
The answer is that the admin owns RR. They drop the limit to encourage people to buy RR subscriptions.

@ cupcake Yes I use Rotten Tomatoes or some of the newer ones like TMDb & just started looking at LetterboxD but there doesn't seem to be a lot on there really. Like I said in a comment 2DOSMovies was really good for reveiws thousands used it but it died a slow death shame really.

@ snickerdoodle Yeah after your comment I went and looked up the old stories of Noddy & Big Ears lol. All the controversy of removing the word golliwog with goblins then replacing the word golliwog in later books. World has gone mad really over the last decade or so even worse since that BIG bug were we brain washed who knows. Still life goes on movies come and go TV series with all the b s of different types of body parts trying hard not to say the word hahahaha.

There were 2 messages(in less than than 2 days) that I wrote addressed to you (about how some series (past and present gems) low availabity and/or visibily getting lireraly lost between others that are "overvisible". Both attemps to get your attention were erased or didn't even show up here... This is VERY concerning.

The original was detailed, with examples, and since I have no way to know they were read (and taken into account!) it's discouraging me to re-write it... Is it on purpose? Or are you handling the issue discretely? Can you acknowledge that YOU read them at least? You can for instance say what you're proposing to do about "Object Z", for instance...

I think it's important that we can be confident our messages here don't get erased and ignored... There is so much NOT about film and TV content, those that are should matter and not the be the ones to get "axed". I really hope this is not erased as well. Thanks.
