Right wing drivel and anti-scientific nonsense that would make the angels weep (if angels were real, which, spoiler alert, they're not).
05:19:23
It's laughable that there are still people who believe that science and religion are at an inevitable conflict and are against each other while they are two different branches of knowledge with different domains of expertise.
And in the deepest mode of philosophical skepticism, if the existence of God can't be proved, it also can't be proved that there is no God.
14:22:45
@Oscar2
Salut! [in French] ![]()
It's obvious that I was referring to dstberkeley when I wrote "It's laughable".
And here's a great, informative video to watch related to this subject: YouTube.com/watch?v=rhFK5_Nx9xY
15:52:21
Twisting the fact that physics probably hasn't reached the final frontier of understanding into proof that there might be another "realm" is a bit of a weak excuse to believe in any story about supernatural beings and their teachings from the bronze age.
Knowledge in a scientific sense is "something you can prove" through repetition of experiments, not "something you cannot disprove". Therefore knowledge in a religious sense is far nearer to self-hypnosis than to thinking. That's why it is called a believe. You can decide to believe, but you only gain the respect of non-believers, if you acknowledge it is your decision to do so and stop playing semantic games in order to convince others from doing so is the only right thing to do.
Stating "politics is nonsense" is nonsense in itself, a paradox. As long as there is a polis, there is politics, probably just not a kind of politics some prefer. Just as long there is time and people to tell what's happening, there is history.
18:32:34
Cinque_Persson Perhaps you missed something which you seem to do a lot. Science is all Theory not facts. Always changing with new developments. Based on believing also.
19:29:25
@Fritz
Thanks, I told my professors the same, but they just kept on measuring and publishing their gobbledigook and building nonsensical artefacts. Worst thing is: the moment I realized that all my technical equipment suddenly stopped working.
21:48:31
@Fritz Your better off not having any dialog with Cinque_Persson. It’s obvious his Left-Wing ideology blocks his understanding of the truth. Easy to see how he enjoys conflict to boost his ego. Drama Queen!
02:46:46
@dstberkeley
While I can agree with the meaning of the first half of your post, the second one is just a bit of the same old but of course it worked as expected. Just that trolling isn't of any help and if you are able to spot the bs right away, you won't be fooled by its cutting and rhethoric while just labelling it is far from enough to deal with all the blah blah.
@timt
As before: whereas statements you agree to are totally fine, other pespectives will be labeled, attacked, derided. Because "truth". If you're on a warpath, why not join a RL fight club and blow off some steam instead of ranting without any real impact into the www?
@Oscar
What should I have "twisted" again? I even did not explicitly answer to you alone, there's references to other posts as well as a direct answer to "all science is belief" not by you.
But of course I also had a look at your link and that leads to a network of websites by a group of people of christian faith that seem to be able to fit everything into THE BOOK. Of course they can.
The nice thing is: from such a perspective suddenly everything really can make sense, even sentences like "all politics is nonsense" or "if it cannot be disproven, it somehow is kind of enough of a proof to not regard it with a grain of salt". If you look around long enough they probably even explain why people of other old and complex faiths are able to claim equivalent experiences from their points of view, but come to totally different conclusions (which are totally wrong, of course).
Because that's just what happens to your mind with elongated exegesis of any cultural product, even with e.g. the Koran, the Baghavad Gita, The Book of the Dead or Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. You "connect the dots". With a bold stress on "You". Which in itself is totally fine - as long as you don't trample into other people's "temples" with a sense of knowing the one and only "truth" and start bossing them around to believe in your system of making sense of it all.
There probably are rare other experiences more dissatisfying for a human mind than not being able to find underlying patterns in phenomena it encounters, even if what it makes up to fill the gaps might not be proven in other ways than belief. It's completely human. But it's a human flaw, too. (Must be an integral part of "intelligent design" then, too. Just kiddin'.)
Concerning the rest: I think behaving in a childish manner (e.g. insisting on wrong perceptions and probably wilful shabby misinterpretations long after they have been multiple times rejected) and doubling down and down and down on that deserves an answer, that reflects on that performance. I really tried long enough to get some somehow stable answers out of you, don't you think?
And after you finally gave up doubling down, you even whined at and begged admins for deleting your own bs from the eyes of others (and mine, disrespectfully, too, btw), because people like me who answer to your belief system are oh so "nasty"? OMG.
As long as you think you have to make a statement, especially on controversial issues, please be aware there's also differing perspectives. You want to make a point? Grow some balls first. Or maybe just try to think something through before you hit the button. Or don't and keep making a habit out of it.
And lest we forget: why do you consider your existence that much superior to that of others, that you explain them as being genetically flawed and want them to stay silent until there's been found a cure for their condition?
12:55:57
Those who don't have a deep understanding of what science is and how it's actually developed are the ones that think religion is anti-scientific or in conflict with science.
Just like gravity doesn't disappear if one stops believing in it, God doesn't stop to exist if some don't believe in God.
19:39:56
@Oscar2
If all politics is nonsense as you claimed, then that means much of what you boldly assert and argue about here is nonsense.
====================================
@MeH
What you found laughable is perhaps an evil trap, set for unwitting know-it-alls who have a propensity for violence and hate.
As for God, no one knows. Those who claim they know are liars and/or dopey fools. Yet those of true faith know what they don't.
====================================
@Fritz
Perhaps you're hallucinating.
====================================
@Cinque_Persson
Much of what you say is true, but some is not, which I guess is understandable if your goal is to troll the fools. Yet I don't think you're a troll. But you do tend to play the role of a plastic snob.
Here's one for you. Do you think it would be okay to make a remake of Roots (1977 miniseries), where the ONLY change is that white actors play as the African slaves, and black actors play as white slave owners? Is that okay, or is that too woke for you?
====================================
@dstberkeley
Those so-called angels might be real, on some level, and that perhaps has nothing to do with an afterlife or that we are special or should have a purpose.
01:55:06
@Oscar2
I already gave you definitions of trolling. Still waiting to get something of substance in return. (Still lost searching my arsenal?) If you had read your links with that definitions in your head and also kept in mind what you wrote about gay people, you might even have had a real epiphany. Maybe try harder? Monks do it.
"WTF is wrong with you? pbs.org is the Public Broadcasting Service in the U.S.A"
Did you also follow the link on the right to the source of that material: "Permissions, credits and ©."? Probably not.
That opens a frame on the left leading to:
"This resource provided by:
Counterbalance Foundation
www.counterbalance.org"
Go there, have fun.
You see, that's a common mistake people make concerning something they read: they just do not care about the sources. We could now even dig further there, check where they got their content from, e.g. https://www.ctns.org/, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T&T_Clark look if there's offsite connections to be found etc. etc.
So there probably is (or was, given the pages are made with 'Adobe PageMill 3.0 Win' from 1994 and using long deprecated framesets) some person at PBS who published that content on their site. And of course in the US you have plenty of believers, so a 'PBS' has to offer something for them, too,
Does that change anything regarding the actual content? I doubt it. While there might be a theoretical chance of a religious "realm", it's not too far-fetched to doubt any of the authors of the religious scripts we know of has had access to it.
But maybe I'm wrong, too. The thing is: I know that I don't know and confess to it, therefore I cannot decide for this or that religion or if I did so, it was a decision based on my will to dedicate to that one faith and none of the others. But: the kind of truth deriving from such a decision is something completely different than running around posting "truth is only in this and therefore truth is: gay people are genetically defective and have to shut up, even their friends and relatives".
Lest we forget:
a) your hymn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awY1MRlMKMc
b) Why don't you just try to give an explanation how you feel "forced" by the existence and the display of existing phenomena and why they deserve to be oppressed into silence and invisibility, while your own existence has to remain untouched and heavenly floating above all criticism?
01:58:18
@no-no
You seem to believe tolerant and woke are the same. While that's a rather common misunderstanding, I heavily beg to differ. Woke theory mostly operates in terms of identity and regarding the outcome it creates even more tribalism instead of less, just the same as right-wingers' does. To me their thinking is as flawed as are their methods. I think they are completely wrong, but not in what they think their goals are, there's something universal to them, too, but most of their theories and actions are as much full of intellectual shortcuts, associative thinking and semantic play-doh as are the right-wingers'. If you look closely, you'll even find both of them promoting each other, provoking each other, living off of each other, needing each other to base their perspective and actions on. And how they see each other is how they consider the rest of the population being in favor of or opposed to their faction. The problem is: our economy of eyeballs pulls the tiniest extremes into the spotlight, so a lot of bystanders time after time get the notion, there's only two sides and they'd have to pick one. That's living in media flatland.
My side is neither. In its best form these tribalisms are a personal coming of age, a rite of passage, that lasts a few years and wanes with the leading an adult life, but in its worst they stay an excuse for groupthink and sadism bolstered by exhaustingly contradicting perspectives, tales and theories.
I remember Roots, but haven't watched it for years. I remember it as an impressive depiction of slavery, but was too young to have had enough background then to take a critical look. But why are you suggesting such obvious bs to me? I guess, bc some producers lately began casting roles with historically wrong skin tones. While I do not like that, as I prefer my fiction at least historically correct, I guess they come from another point of view. They probably think: it's movies, just like theatre with a camera, it is art, telling a fairytale, a fable, a fantasy, not a documentary, therefore we can play as much with the material as we like. I consider this approach as flawed, like postmodern architecture, but to explain why would add even less to this conversation. But I don't like most animation, cheap tv romcoms or the 21.817th reincarnation of Die Hard, too. So what?
So was it a question of interest or were you maybe projecing that misconception of "tolerant equals woke" onto me?
I just dislike it, when people spill around their tribalisms, may they be woke or homophobic or whatever. It's obvious bs in plain sight, but as a popular ingredient of today's tribalisms it has indeed real world consequences, from the anonymous harassement of strangers up to massacres.
15:55:58
@Oscar2
"I don't understand how you could come to that conclusion, and would like an explanation."
I don't believe you, as I doubt you are that dumb. Take that as a compliment.
"Explain why you call us fools"
I did not call you fools, and I was talking to Cinque_Persson.
"Why do you immediately resort to insults in the first instance?"
I didn't. I simply pointed out some shortcommings and lies. If you have a problem with that and choose to play as a victim of so-called insults, then so be it, but I'm not to blame for your childish feelings.
"You could have easily made your statements without the insults, and they would have been better received."
No, that is not true. You are clueless.
"the impression you give is that of arrogance"
Comming from you, that means nothing, but note taken.
Keep updated for your test results.
If you need more help, ask a trusted adult for some clarity.
16:27:30
@Cinque_Persson
"You seem to believe tolerant and woke are the same."
That is a silly thing to assume. I take it you just wanted to provide a reason to give your explanation of woke and such, of which I have little interest in, but interesting, nonetheless.
"So was it a question of interest or.."
It was a test. You passed. Most people fail that part of the test.
Tribalism is a political force that has been around since the first tribes. It has served the survival of our ancestors in the past, but extreme tribalism will likely be our doom in this modern age, as just a small group of extreme fanatics have more and more power to destroy more and more, regardless to what most of us want.
18:01:46
@Oscar2
You're still just claiming bs without any substance to it. Like a pitbull unable to reopen its mouth after biting. Maybe take deep breath or two, before you begin hacking away on the keyboard again. You might be able to learn something even from points you deeply despise.
@no-no
I fully agree. But I'm still having a hard time letting tribalists come to grips whith their motivation and that it's being played with by people, that to me in plain sight don't give a tiniest shit about the real world situation of their followers.
19:20:43
@Cinque_Persson
I understand, but I think things are far worse than that. My focus is lies, from hyperbolic snowflakes to trolling megalomanics.
I've come to the conclusion that there is a growing cabal of people on all sides, who have one main edict; to lie and confuse, where they feed off the energy of hate they set in motion.
I don't care to thwart them, as that is futile. But I do sometimes enjoy reminding them of who they are.
04:30:03
@Oscar2
You are again just projecting and making things up in order to throw around labels and acusations based on not one single argument.
All you seem to have to give is opinionated rants and links you think convince others of your claims.
Do you ever process what you read there at all or is "sounds good and fits my guts" already enough for you?
@no-no
"I've come to the conclusion that there is a growing cabal of people on all sides, who have one main edict; to lie and confuse, where they feed off the energy of hate they set in motion."
It's a propaganda technique, by some called the "firehose of falsehood" and claimed to have been originated from Russia (but what do I know, international conflict always comes with the usual fog of war). By extremely shortening the theory and observations: using a lot of different channels you pump out so many half-truths, lies and contradicting stories into the public sphere, that even true accounts will be regarded as possible disinfo, thus undermining trust in information, politics and society as a whole. See e.g. for a start: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firehose_of_falsehood
(Ironically the article mentions also Trump, thus you and me, if we wanted to follow the our mutual friend.)
04:52:11
@Oscar, again
If no-no thinks I'm trolling you he isn't completely wrong, but he probably didn't read that all this started with you (and others) trolling gay people. But just you were engaging in my answwer to that and trying to defend your views. And when you saw I could rip them apart as beliefs, not "truth" you switched to not giving any argument at all anymore. And at least 98% of what I wrote was nothing of the character you claim it was. But if you cannot stand being mocked, you etter stop discriminating others. In RL they might not always be so friendly to stick to words.
And maybe I even sound snobbish to some, but why should I be hurt by no-no's opinion? He's some person somwhere I do not know anything about and the other way around. If I had been interested why he thinks so, I could have asked him myself. If I had felt offended I could have told him so. I do not need your support. And he did not make up bs about me or whole groups he'd have guessed I associate with as you did.
And in the end: isn't smearing hatespeech into forums the most vulgar form of snobbishness and trolling there is? Remember:
>> Online trolling is defined as "online communication which could incite hatred towards particular groups", "trying to damage reputation by making false comments", "accusing of things not done".
06:32:38
@Oscar2
Among other things, you personify a hyperbolic snowflake who deserves to be ridiculed and shamed for your lies. But I take it that's the image you wish to portray, as you desire conflict, yet I'm not going to fall into your crazy labyrinth of deceit. Also, I simply don't like engaging in importunity.
Your false claims about me are so obvious, I don't even have to bother defending all my words. Thanks.
As for your claim that I support trolling behavior, nothing I have said here supports that claim. Yet, you mentioning it makes me wonder; is all trolling as bad as you keep asserting?
Take movies. I have watched well over 5K movies, and many of them engage in so-called trolling behavior. The most notable are ones that expose bigots and such. They are often exposed when those bigots say how offended they were by the movie, yet there was nothing wrong with the movie. Such movies are often a public service of good, regardless to the trolling content used. For example, The Last Temptation of Christ was a great movie, yet it trolled and exposed many liars who pretended to be saints.
That said, some may say such movies are not trolling, and I tend to agree, yet due to the ever-expanding definition of what trolling could be (by extreme absolutists as you), I'm sure you can at least see how that applies on some nuanced level.
Oh, I also find it amusing that you claimed I'm "self-entitled". The only thing I have entitled myself to here is my freedom of speech. Yet you have self-entitled yourself as the dictator of this thread, pretending to represent other people's views of which you don't know.
"You must get smacked in the head a lot"
Nope. At a nightclub I got smacked in the head once by a drunk and paranoid psychopath, for no good reason. I guess he thought I was going to take his boyfriend away from him, but I'm not gay and could care less about his boyfriend. I actually managed that nightclub and could have had him kicked out. But I managed not to escalate the situation with force, kept the peace, and continued to profit from that bully/alcoholic.
But of course, that story may not be true, as I just might be and evil troll, out to confuse you with my stealthy lies. LOL
08:01:09
Cinque_Persson
As I said before, my focus of study is lies, thus that "firehose of falsehood" is now on my list. I didn't know about that. Thanks. I definitely understand how that works, but now I have something to point to. Still, I tend to think there's a lot more going on, as I said before.
I read your last comment to Oscar2, and I understand how that was for him and not me, thus I'm not going to assume anything about it (an etiquette Oscar2 ignores). But I will say, I had indeed read all of that previous conversation with Oscar2, over that movie.
When I said, "you do tend to play the role of a plastic snob", you were wise to not take that as insult. If you think about, it's a nothing burger, as it equates to being called a facade of a snob. That too was part of the test, which is now done. You got a B (better than average). You're now an honorary sub-member of Tribe No-No. You can order your free No-No armband from the Tribe No-No website (code 404).
As for so-called snobs, there are good snobs and bad snobs. The snobs who lie are what I consider the bad snobs. I would rather deal with a so-called snob who knows they are smart, than a so-called snob who is smart but pretends to be dumb. For example, I think George W Bush was of the latter, but IDK for sure.
08:29:39
@Oscar2
"This is an automated response post"
Ha, now you have sunk to the level of a spam-bot, again.
You are clearly the loser here.
But you must be good at something. Perhaps you should start a blog about trolls.
14:20:18
@Oscar2
"This is an automated response post..."
As this is another lie as well as you falling back into cherrypicking as well as doubling down mode, my answer to performances like this can also stay the same:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men,
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
04:53:45
@no-no
"What you found laughable is perhaps an evil trap, set for unwitting know-it-alls who have a propensity for violence and hate."
What crap is this?! I just told a historical fact when I wrote "It's laughable that there are still people who believe that science and religion are at an inevitable conflict and are against each other".
This man-made and unreal so-called conflict, that first went on full display in 1633 when Galilei stood trial for stating a natural fact, was nothing but a product of misunderstanding by some idiots in Catholic church. While Catholic church isn't (the whole) Christianity and Christianity isn't (the whole) religion.
02:00:02
@Beastie
If there’s one thing that I like about you, it’s that I like more than just one thing about you. Your humor is like a dog whistle. It mostly goes undetected. But to those that get it, they really get it.
Talking to you is the best part of my day, aside from when I'm sleeping and when I'm eating. You know, you’re almost as wonderful as cake. Almost. Damn, you aren't just the meal... you're the whole buffet. If it was legal to marry food, I’d still choose you over pizza. If you were a vegetable, you’d be a cute-cumber.
Your ability to consider a problem from multiple angles and perspectives is a gift and a curse. Your extreme mental and physical appeal makes me want to live long and prosper with you. I’m always amazed by the things you don’t find embarrassing about me. Looking like a complete idiot with you is really fun. I like having you around because my weirdness doesn’t look so weird when you’re doing it too. I’m so lucky that you’re not a drug. If you were, I would turn into an unreasonable addict, and then I’d have to go to rehab. It certainly is not easy to be me, which is why I need you.
Truth be told, you have really good taste in friends. Honestly, the hardest thing about being your friend is that I have to pretend that I like my other friends just as much as I like you. You have a calming presence and a lot of people fall asleep near you. You smell like a library. I bet you do crossword puzzles in ink.
I don’t believe half the bad things they say about you. The first time we met, i was like, "Well, this person seems cool." And now I'm like, "I literally think you can read my mind." If your humor were in bottle form, I would spray it on everyone. It sucks that you don’t see what I see in you. Because if you did, you’d just stare and keep smiling. A smile from you is more than enough to make my day.
I don't have a favorite color, it's pretty much whatever you are wearing. You seem like you don’t own any item of clothing that has a skull on it. You have a perfectly shaped head. You have great earlobes. Your hair is really soft, like a baby duck.
I look at you the same way we all look at giraffes, which is basically like, “You are a magnificent creature.” In a world of ladybugs you are a tiger. Yeah, you're that much better than everyone else. You are awkward, in a cute way. Like an elevator ride, but with puppies. Kittens probably share photos of you with one another in their very own social network. I would give up everything for a chance to talk to you about nothing.
02:28:03
@Beastie
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow'st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

@Cinque_Persson
If those love letters of yours to Beastie weren't a copy-paste job, you're really crazy, man! (O.O) (o_O)
18:42:53
@MeH
"If those love letters of yours to Beastie weren't a copy-paste job…"
Sure – if they weren't. Editing them together was fun, though.

@Beastie
Thanks, you're very creative and even poetic with your insults, too. I just hope they're not verbal representations of what you use to decorate the walls of your man cave. Maybe you could also integrate some other acts and body parts. Here's another chance to practice, hun:
Last year I thought that you were icky as I ate my glue,
But this year I can see that I have greatly misjudged you.
Your retainer gleams with moonlight beams when you smile in my direction.
I can see through greasy hair that we have a connection.
My armpit hair is growing just as fast as our romance,
And now that I’m like 5 foot 5 I think I have a chance.
There’s something about my love for you that others just don’t get.
The things I like about you are as many as my zits.
I’ve not seen you for a while now and I hope you’re doing well,
Because I think my armpits have a very lonely smell.
If I were left without you I would have a heart attack,
So let me serenade you with this song from Nickleback.
You want to play Diablo with me? I hope you won’t mind.
I think you would be purple, you’re a legendary find.
I want to see your visage more than any other faces,
‘Cause like my Warcraft druid, you have charmed me with your graces.
You’re beautiful, you’re wonderful, you make my heart go boom,
Just like the can of Axe I unleashed upon this room.
I know that you will love me, and I know it will be neat,
Because my shampoo label says, “Rinse, attract, repeat.”
Though I may be awkward, this poem may be weird,
And my good side may be tough to see through my patchy beard,
My mind is going crazy, but one thing is true:
My random hormones have paired me with you.
00:37:15
@Beastie
Not today, sweetie. But I guess the anal fixation has you occupied somehow anyway. Which is a little curious in the context of this thread. Just had a hunch: Does the closet amplify your growling?
09:25:49
@Ocar2
What hornet's nest this place is! I hadn't a clue. Goes from logos to pathos and back around, my head spins!
@MeH
In passing, since I saw something about whether or not angels existed...
To be clear, I'm not pressing an opinion but relaying bits of a discussion a few of us were having in reddit about "can someone be agnostic and atheist?".. and further, can one be religious without a God.
When we speak of the existence of God in terms of "can be proven/disproven" (that there is a way to to this), we are dealing with the knowledge side (agnostic/gnostic, from greek of course) of religion. You can think there is no way to prove it, but chose to believe, making one an agnostic theist, or the other way around... since when we speak of belief in a diety/dieties, we are are in the belief territory of religion, beyond knowledge (the other side of the coin).
However, one could be religious without beliwving in a deity/ies, by having their lives arranged around and guided by other shared spiritual principles such as, well, spirits (think native-americans) or the universal energy, or Karma; that is then about the commitment side of religion, another angle. Hence there are many flavors of religious and non-religious people.
I realize this serves no "real" purpose, just thought it interesting. Goodnite!
01:47:40
@ Beastie
For once maybe try to prove something instead of spiting out swear words, sexual practices, feces and statements. Or maybe better don't.
15:38:52
@MeH@MeH
Why did you call my words to you "crap"?
It was a simple hypothesis that I earnestly offered you, to help explain what you found "laughable".
But now you claim to know what those people in that so-called conflict think. Personally, I don't know what they think, but I know what they say, and much of it is lies.
TIP: It's best not to frame your worldview from those who lie a lot, unless you want to be a devotee of the Cult of Liars, or whatever.

@no-no
Still talking crap?!
"What you found laughable is perhaps an evil trap, set for unwitting know-it-alls who have a propensity for violence and hate."
"propensity for violence and hate"?!!! It was crap.
"But now you claim to know what those people in that so-called conflict think."
It's still crap. I didn't claim/assume anything. All I wrote was (historical) facts. Catholic Church, without any firm evidence, wrongly believed that the sun and everything else orbit the earth. They misinterpreted ONE line in the Bible (Psalm 102) and derived the wrong conclusion that the earth is the center of the world. And we all know that the Bible isn't the words of God (while Quran is or at least Islam claims it). This issue even hadn't been discussed extensively in Catholic Church and Christianity.
So, I emphasize that this man-made and unreal so-called conflict, that first went on full display in 1633 when Galilei stood trial for stating a natural fact, was nothing but a product of misunderstanding by some idiots in the Catholic Church. While Catholic Church isn't (the whole) Christianity and Christianity isn't (the whole) religion.

@Beastie
I'm happy to have managed to get a little more than another growl from the cave for once (even if it is just the usual mix of copypasta and sophistry).
How did I do this? I hit the right spot: shame and the anxiety to be exiled. I used a rather common thesis:
The zoón politkón lives in a state of existential horror of being excluded and abandoned by his peers, therefor, whenever a traditionally agreed upon to be derided "other" (*) comes on the table, zoón is immediately sensing the theoretical threat to be blamed as such and in reflex immediately points elsewhere: "Him! Not me! I am as you are! We are we! I am we! That is not we!" So as "we" and "I" are so fragile and often superficial, "other" is insistently used as a putty to fill the cracks. In fact most "problems" with "other" could be solved, if there was an earnest will to do so. A lot of them are even just made up using abstractions anyway.
If you allow a total stranger on the internet you already despise and distrust to so easily push your fear buttons, what else do you allow your peers to fiddle with in order to nudge and play you by, when let your guards down?
---
(*) "Other" in fact is a rich bouquet to pick from. Whoever is put there is done so for a personal condition not up to his choice and picked from it à la mode du jour. There's evergreens like "wimps", "redheads", "fags", "bitches", there's those from somewhere else, who's origins are always following the news of the time and there's always that air of horror from intimacy, trespassing borders, defiling purety. But whatever name the "other" this season has, all "other" are all the same and totally different from if not the opposite of "we".
01:27:52
@MeH
"Still talking crap?!"
No. I politely gave you an opportunity to explain your negative judgment of my earnest words, yet you chose to play dumb and pollute the topic with superfluous subterfuge, as if I needed a history lesson from you, about things I never took issue with.
If you're trying to make a case for why my hypothesis is wrong, you have done a very poor job, and/or perhaps you're blinded by some silly judgment about me.
Yet if you're a devotee of the Cult of Liars, then I understand, as the tactics you have used here tend to fit that profile.
02:08:28
@Cinque_Persson
I see that you perhaps think you have "managed" to achieve some sort of goal here. Yet I tend to think you have achieved much of nothing. You are now on probation, and thus risk losing your sub-member ranking with us
02:58:27
@Cinque_Persson
Becuase you have ignored the importance of this matter, you are no longer an honorary sub-member of Tribe No-No. For a small donation, you are still eligible to be a dishonorary sub-member, which is better than nothing. That gives you access to some movie trailers and reviews, such as with: Dance Camp (2016), The Wild World of Batwoman (1966), Clash of the Empires (2012), and Raiders of the Lost Shark (2014).
14:17:13
@no-no
You're still talking crap! 0.o By "crap" here I mean "nonsense, not worth anything, not useful".
That's somewhat true when you say you were "polite", but that doesn't change the nonsense you wrote to something rational and sensible.
And what hypothesis you have presented at all?! You mean "What you found laughable is perhaps an evil trap, set for unwitting know-it-alls who have a propensity for violence and hate." Well, that's crap! A lot of articles and books have been written on the subject of science-religion conflict and it's been proven that there isn't any true conflict between the two and yet you insist on your crappy "hypothesis" and "Cult of Liars"!
08:27:47
@MeH
I agree there isn't any true conflict, yet people still argue about it; what I find sad, and you found "laughable". We both agree on that point, but you insist my words are crap. Silly you.
So why do people still argue over it?
That's what my hypothesis addressed. For you to take issue with my words to you shows you are either lacking and/or you have a silly agenda to play dumb. Either way, you have clearly shown me you are not worthy of handling the truth of things.
