     The Art of Warez is a documentary video, created by Oliver Payne, 
     which explores the history and culture of the ANSI art scene that 
     flourished in the 1980s and early 1990s.
     The film delves into the underground world of bulletin board systems 
     (BBS), where teenagers engaged in software piracy, known as "warez," 
     and developed a unique form of digital art using text-based graphics.

     ANSI art, constructed from rectangular blocks with 16 colors and four 
     shades of density, was displayed on BBS platforms and became a 
     significant part of the early digital art movement.

     The documentary highlights how these artistic creations were often 
     embedded in cracked software intros, which served as digital 
     graffiti to claim authorship and showcase technical prowess.

     The scene was deeply tied to the broader hacker culture, including 
     phone phreaking traditions, and featured a distinct subculture with 
     its own language, hierarchies, and rivalries.

     The film also touches on the eventual decline of BBS systems due to 
     the rise of the internet and faster data transfer speeds, which 
     rendered the slow dial-up methods obsolete.

     The documentary has been widely shared and praised across online
