I also would appreciate it very much if subtitles were not included in mkv files. I do not mind subtitles at all as long as they are good. But the included subs often contain numerous spelling errors, bad punctuation and casing, and it is extremely annoying and makes the film / episode seem poor too

Thank you. I obviously have no idea about programming :P.
I did as you said, but it's still a bit fuzzy for me - does the MKVToolNix need to be on or will the file activate it? (it's installed all right)
Where does it create the output file or does it replace the old one?
I tried dropping the mkv file on the icon, but nothing happens.

Thanks, I found a tutorial for removing subs with MKVToolNix on youtube and it worked like magic without the extra file (it had shown gears on my desktop too, and I copied the pathway from the info box, but something else had to be wrong).
Anyway, thank you very much for the MKVToolNix suggestion - it has helped a lot .
