As long as mSD keeps encoding everything at 4:3 ratio I say they can be as late to the party as they want to be or even stop encoding. There are better encode already on site to choose from.

Frame Size....Aspect Ratio
720x480..................4:3
720x480.................16:9
720x576..................5:4
640x480..................4:3

keep away from mSD encodes. just sayin'

Actually the proper setting for a 480P encode should be
width 854 and height 480 that will give a the result of a 16:9 encode.
However, my smart tv has a button that will stretch out a bad encode like this so it looks just fine.
mSD have been encoding for a while now. can't believe they're still doing it wrong.
