The majority of links are taken down because of DMCA notices.

Other reasons include too many free down loaders taking up bandwidth so they cut them and as you say sometimes technical problems.
Last i heard over 1 million take down notices where being issued to movie hosts every day.
They can also delete because they dont want to pay the up-loader anymore commission ha ha
