Well, yes, I do remember downloading CDs one song at a time. sometimes taking days to complete an album hoping for just one seeder to start seeding sometimes.
I never torrented anything until after 2000, probably 2001, and that was with Napster.
So how old are you really spidapig?

Not true please dont believe any wikipedia page rofl, it doesn't even list edonkey which was around for a nearly a decade before eDonkey2000 and Napster.
So it was probably early 90s.

I beg to disagree all are p2p networks starting with Usenet which was one of the first developed in 1979.

First there was eDonkey and overnet which then merged into eDonkey2000-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overnet
(i know you like wikipedia links which are often wrong or inaccurate)

I also used all these protocols in the past and talked to the developers in their forums about improvements at the time.

I didn't compare networks or protocols you have.(i am sure we could start a whole new debate on that pleaseissue ha ha )

I was commenting in repy to Alienathan in a generalization not to the original poster
