For some reasons, we've decided to stop uploading files to uploaded.net after Jan. 2021, until then we only upload small files to uploaded.net.

@ slowthursdayonsunday,

We didn't change anything, if you get error while extracting just repair the RAR file.

Note "RAR Recovery Record: 5%"
on this and for all the uploads here.
So if there is a small error, involving less than 5% of the total, it can be repaired using Winrar or 7-Zip.

But also, yes, use JDownloader. Takes all the hassle out of using these sites. You avoid the popups and all the sleazy misdirects. You only need to do the Recaptchas, and there are plugins that do that if you want.

I also can recommend JDownloader. I have been using it since the early version 1. I have never had a problem. The only thing is that as it runs on Java you need to install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE). This automatically install a Java Plugin in your browsers. This plugin can be insecure but you can disable it in your various browsers quiote easily. Here is a link on how to do that n the various browsers.

been using Jdownloader since 2009 on 3 different computers. Never lost one of them due to Jdownloader.
Best download manager I've ever used.

@thedude
-- I've been using JD for about 10 years, on a half dozen PCs. Never had any side effects, let alone a "destroyed computer".

They have a very active forum and respond to any issues, and update the program almost daily to keep up with changes to the sites. https://board.jdownloader.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1
Some people at the forum are arseholes, same as here, but the developers are pretty cool.

Anyway, I can only assume you got a virus infected version from a fake site. Get it from http://jdownloader.org/download/index

Compared to the crap that these download sites try to trick you into installing, the choice is very clear.

JD is also nice for downloading video, or just audio, from Youtube and some other video sites.

A few things I'd like to add here:

- You don't have to install Java in your browser to use a Java application like JDownloader. You can install the Java Runtime Environment and opt not to install the browser plugin, which is the part responsible for practically all real-life security concerns around Java.

- There certainly are infected versions of JDownloader out there, but even the official installer had or maybe still has Adware bundled with it. If you go to the JDownloader forum you will find posts from JDownloader developers that link to "clean" installers.

- As with almost all software no one can really guarantee that it is and will always stay safe; if you don't fully trust it you might consider using it in a virtual machine.

Good advice by MeH
Security and software updates always, everyday
Download managers are fine, better if you can download from multiple sources.
I dont use download managers anymore as i dont like the start up times, difficulties with captchas and software updates destroying links, others love them which is fine.
I use browser based downloaders that can resume and restart like downloadthemall and the "download status bar" for Firefox, never had a problem and can keep track while still surfing the webs.

As for FUD about JD using Java -- JD is the only app on my PC that uses Java. I don't have the browser plugins. So I'm not open to any more risk.
And to reiterate: a major feature is that it protects you from all the weird stuff that these warez download sites have on their own pages or ads. I never see their pages, just pass the links to JD and it gets the files and knows which are the fake "Download now!" buttons and which are the real ones.

Anyway, look at their forum. Dozens of posts every day. It would be full of complaints if it had any security issues.
